25-Year-Old Seriously Injured In Crash Near Long Island Intersection

One person suffered severe injuries in a crash near a Long Island intersection.

It happened around 5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, in Commack.

According to Suffolk County Police, a 25-year-old man from East Northport was riding a 2006 Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Jericho Turnpike when the motorcycle crashed into an eastbound 2019 Nissan Rogue making a left turn onto Morewood Drive.

The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital for the treatment of serious injuries. 

The driver of the Nissan, a 59-year-old Commack woman, was hospitalized with minor injuries.

Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the SCPD Fourth Squad at 631-854-8452.
